"I did what most people called me crazy for doing, created my own irc network.
irc.bbs-scene.org will hopefully grow up to be a great place for everyone who
enjoys that bbs scene to hang out (although anyone can setup a channel about
anything, it's not limited to the bbs scene).
It's currently running on two dedicated servers each on their own gigabit pipe,
so stability and speed won't be a problem. We are always looking for more
leafs or hubs to join, or people who want to help out and be an OP. If your
OK, I've officially thrown myself into the fray of BBS Door developers. I have been writing small BBS utilities for quite a long time. Right now, I have 2 pieces of software in the works: ZappLinerz 2 and ZappNewz ... I am looking for a few brave soldiers ... er... sysops to test these doors. More info can be found on the ZappWare Development website @ mentalmeltdown.bbs.us/zwd ... I am working on trying to integrate these utilities with today's technology.
The Ultimate Universe Socity was recently formed by Christopher Darque. Christopher previously worked with Garth Bigelow, the original author of the UltimateUniverse door game for a number of years, initially rewriting its help system, and later he went on promoting the game as a paid representitive of Tophersoft. He later formed a group that briefly took over development of UU, resulting in the final beta 2.50b which was released to the public domain.

The author of ultimate universe, an expansive tradewars doorgame clone is dying of a terminal illness.
i was reading through his blog and a lot of it is really heart breaking.
if you can even just send 5 bucks, that would be great.
he's in thailand living out his last days.

"GameSrv v8.06.03 was just released today. A little more testing went into this release than the last, but not much more, so PLEASE make sure you backup your GameSrv directory before upgrading. This release adds a few new options, but the biggest changes are some show-stopping "Run as NT Service" bugfixes, so please continue to test that mode of operation to help find more!"

Author's Note: He did tell me this time. :)

Although the author of GameSrv hangs out where I do. He did not mention this to me. :) so I am just now posting it. THANKS REE...

Of special need of testing is the "Run as NT Servive" option, so if you choose to try that option, please let me know your expeciences, whether they be good or bad.

"Somebody just brought to my attention the fact that I broke the promise I made awhile ago. The promise was that I would try to work on GameSrv on a weekly basis, and if I failed to work on it for a 30 day period, I would release the source.
Well, I didn't technically break the promise, as I have been working on GameSrv here and there, but I definitely broke the spirit of the promise, which was to get more work done in a shorter period of time, and make quicker releases.
I have a special project I am working on. I need a web designer or two, and a php programmer or two.
